Sue Harkness’s leadership within AAUW has included serving as President for four years (1994-1998), Program Vice President and Treasurer for many years. She also received the Branch’s Outstanding Woman of the Year award. This is why it is most appropriate that the Storrs/Willimantic Book Scholarship Award, which Sue created, be named in her honor.

Each year a student from ECSU, UCONN or QVCC is awarded $200 towards the cost of text books.
